A. THE BIBLE: We believe the Scriptures, both Old and New Testaments, to be the inspired Word of God, without error in the original writings, the complete revelation of His will for the salvation of men and the divine and final authority for Christian faith and life (John 17:17; 2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:19-21; Revelation 22:18-19) B. GOD: We believe in one God, Creator of all things, infinitely perfect and eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit (Genesis 1:1, 26; Matthew 28:19; John 1:1,14,18; Acts 5:3-4; 2 Corinthians 13:14) C. JESUS CHRIST: We believe that Jesus Christ is true God and true man having been conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He died on the cross a sacrifice for our sins according to the Scriptures. Further, He arose bodily from the dead, ascended into heaven, where at the right hand of the Majesty on High He is now our High Priest and Advocate (Isaiah 7:14; Matthew 1:18-25; Luke 1:26-35; John 1:1,14,18; Philippians 2:6-11; Hebrews 4:14-16) D. THE HOLY SPIRIT: We believe that the ministry of the Spirit is to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ, and during this age to convict men, regenerate the believing sinner, indwell, guide, instruct and empower the believer for godly living and service (John 14:16-17; 16:13-14; Acts 5:3-4; Romans 8:9; 1 Corinthians 6:18-20) E. MAN: We believe that man was created in the image of God but fell into sin and is, therefore, lost and only through regeneration by the Holy Spirit can salvation and spiritual life be obtained (Genesis 1:26-27; 2:7-9,16-17; 3:1-19; Romans 3:10,23; 5:12,19) F. SALVATION: We believe that the shed blood of Jesus Christ and His resurrection provide the only ground for justification and salvation for all who believe, and only such as recieve Jesus Christ are born of the Holy Spirit and thus become children of God (John 1:12; 3:16; John 10:27-30; Acts 16:31; Romans 3:21-28;; 8:29-39; Ephesians 2:8-9; Titus 3:3-8) G. ORDINANCES: We believe that water baptism and the Lord's Supper are ordinances to be observed by the Church during the present age. They are however not to be regarded as means of salvation (Matthew 28:18-20; 1 Corinthians 11:23-34) H. CHURCH: We believe that the true Chruch is composed of all such persons who through saving faith in Jesus Christ have been regenerated by the Holy Spirit and are united together in the Body of Christ of which He is the Head (Ephesians 1:22-23; Colossians 1:18) I. CHURCH MEMBERSHIP: We believe that only those who are, thus, members of the true Church shall be eligible for membership in the local church (John 1:12; 3:16; 1 Corinthians 1:2; Philippians 1:1) J. CONGREGATIONAL GOVERNMENT: We believe that Jesus Christ is the Lord and Head of the Church and that every local church has the right under Christ to decide and govern its own affairs (Matthew 18:17; Acts 6:3-5; Acts 15:22,30; 1 Peter 2:5,9) K. THE SECOND COMING OF CHRIST: We believe in the personal premillennial and imminent coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and that this "Blessed Hope" has a vital bearing on the personal life and service of the believer (John 14:1-3; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; 1 Corinthians 15:51-58) L. THE RESURRECTIONS: We believe in the bodily resurrection of the dead; of the believer to everlasting blessedness and joy with the Lord; of of the unbeliever to judgment and everlasting concious punishment (John 5:28-29; Revelation 20:11-15)
A. A COMMITMENT TO THE GREAT COMMISSION: We believe that the mission of the church is to make more and better disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ by telling the gospel to the lost, baptizing new converts, and teaching Christians to obey everything that Christ has commanded. We are committed to obeying the Great Commission in the power of the Holy Spirit (Matthew 28:18-20; Acts 1:8) B. A COMMITMENT TO BIBLE TEACHING: We believe that the Bible is the inspired, inerrant Word of God given to us as our authoritative rule for faith and practice. We are committed to preaching and teaching the Word of God and showing people how to apply its timeless truths to their lives (2 Timothy 3:15-4:5) C. A COMMITMENT TO WORSHIP: We believe that worship is a key to renewal and revival in the church. We are committed to exalting the triune God in our worship services through singing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, doing drama, playing musical instruments, praying, giving an offering, and sharing testimonies of how God is working in our lives (John 4:23-24; Acts 2:42-47; Hebrews 10:24-25) D. A COMMITMENT TO PRAYER: We believe that prayer is essential for effective ministry. We believe that God hears and answers the prayers of His people and that without prayer nothing of eternal consequence can be accomplished. We are committed to pray for the church, the pastor and his family, church leaders, church services, ministry teams, and missionaries (John 16:24; Acts 4:31; Romans 12:12; Ephesians 6:18) E. A COMMITMENT TO SMALL GROUPS: We believe that small groups are the most effective means of building relationships, stimulating spiritual growth, and developing leaders. We are committed to starting small groups in the church, training small group leaders, and encouraging people to join small groups (Acts 2:46; Romans 15:14; 1 Peter 4:9) F. A COMMITMENT TO LAY MINSITRY: We believe that every Christian has at least one spiritual gift. We are committed to helping Christians discover and use their spiritual gifts to serve one another and build up the Body of Christ (Romans 12:3-8; 1 Peter 4:10-11) G. A COMMITMENT TO THE FAMILY: We believe that the family is ordained by God. We are committed to strengthening marriages and families by ministering to adults, youth, and children (Ephesians 5:22-6:4) H. A COMMITMENT TO LEADERSHIP TRAINING: We believe that Christians should be trained to lead small groups and ministry teams. We are committed to training Christians to do the work of the ministry (Ephesians 4:11-16; 2 Timothy 2:2) I. A COMMITMENT TO SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY: We believe that the church should be salt and light in a spiritually dark and morally decaying world. We are committed to taking a stand against abortion, pornography, homosexuality, crime, racism, and drug abuse. We are also committed to serving others in our community (Matthew 5:13-16; Ephesians 5:11-13) J. A COMMITMENT TO CHURCH PLANTING AND MISSIONS: We believe that the church needs to have missionary eyes. Jesus said that we should look on the fields because they are ripe for harvest. We are committed to planting churches in the greater Columbus area. We are committed to giving to world missions, praying for missionaries and encouraging our members to go to the mission field (John 4:35-38; Acts 1:8; 1 Corinthians 16:1-2)
