Pastor Lawson was called by God into the ministry in 1962. In 1964, he was ordained as an Elder in the COGIC. Pastor and Mo. Lawson founded Terrestrial Temple in 1972. God then blessed the Pastor and his wife to purchase the church with only 8 members. Down through the years, God has truly blessed Pastor and Mo. Lawson. Through their ministry, they have been able to assist families in distress and there is always a line open for prayer day or night. The church now offers a Sunday morning breakfast program in which they feed the children after Sunday School. There is also weekly bible study, and weekly worship service as well as several groups that relate specifically to men, women, youth and children. Pastor and Mo. Lawson are very involved in the community. He is an officer in the Collective Coalition of Concerned Clergy, a Chaplin for the Fire and Police Departments, and on the board for the Muncie Housing Authorty. Mo. Lawson is a volunteer for the Christian Ministries (a community ministry that helps need families in the city) and a member of several committees throughout the city. Pastor and Mo. Lawson have a God given vision for Terrestrial. It includes a Day Care and Scholastic Assistance, which includes, but is not limited to, after-school tutoring, computer workshops and adult literacy programs. In 1987, Bishop John T. Dupree, State Prelate of the Indiana 3rd Jurisdiction of the COGIC, appointed Pastor Lawson as Superintendent of District #1. As of this day, Pastor Lawson is overseer of several churches throughout the state of Indiana. The Pastor and his wife are blessed with one child, Sis. Ren'a Lawson-Wagner. She is married to Min. Jon Wagner and they have 2 teenage children, Erica and Freddie. They are very faithful to the church and do not hesitate to do what is asked of them by the pastor and wife because they know that God blesses you for your obedience to his people.
