The Music Ministry
The music ministry of Winterville Baptist Church is a fully graded music ministry involving preschoolers to senoir adults. We seek to minister to the entire congregation, their tastes, and their styles of worship. Our talented musicians and leaders present music of all styles including classical, gospel, contemporary, and traditional. A high prority is placed on the music of worship, from congregational singing to our volunteer choirs.
Our choirs offer opportunities of stewardship to the church through musical training and leadership in our church services. Volunteers are always welcomed. The "tradition of excellence" our ministry has had for so many years could not continue to succeed without our dedicated volunteers.
Opportunities for Service in Music
Cherub Choir (Ages 3 - Kindergaten): The choir for our youngest
singers. The focus is on beginning musical training through rhythm
and pitch, and an introduction to basic worship techniques. This
choir uses the preschool curriculum of the Southern Baptist Church.
Junior Choir (Grades 1 - 6): The choir for early and intermediate
musicians and beginning music readers. The focus is on blending
worship techniques, basic music skills, and spiritual developement
through anthems. This choir provides music for the morning worship
service at least once monthly. This choir uses the Children's Choir
curriculum of the Southern Baptist Church.
Youth Choir (Grades 7 - 12): The choir for middle and high school students. The focus is on spiritual development and worship
leadership through anthems and special music presentations. This
choir provides music for the morning worship service at least once
monthly.
Adult Choir (Adults of all ages): The focus is on providing a wide range of music, theologically based, to enhance the weekly worship service. To provide special music presentation. To promote positive Christian fellowship.
