Trinity Parish Episcopal Church was founded on August 13,1865 by The Rev Peter Edwards Hyland.
The original church was located on property located at 3rd Avenue & Jefferson Street in the center of Seattle's growing pioneer community. In 1889, the year Washington became a state, that building was destroyed by the Great Seattle Fire.
In 1891, the parishioners erected a new building on a newly purchased lot at Eighth Avenue & James Street. Eleven years later a fire partially destroyed that building. In 1903, using the existing walls, parishioners rebuilt the church building as it now stands. The beautiful stained glass windows and furnishings, which enrich our worship and lives, memorialize many of our Church's and Washington's pioneers.
Trinity's parishioners invite you to share in Christ's pilgrimage: to follow Christ. Join us in worshiping God in the fellowship of the Church. Share with us in witnessing God's love in Christ and in working, praying and giving for the increase of Christ's Kingdom.
