GreenView United Church of Christ
GreenView United Church of Christ is located in a rural setting in Southeastern Shelby County. GreenView Church is is made up of many diverse folks from farmers to teachers to business people, and many others. GreenView Church was formed in 1967, a merger of two churches that came together to join the United Church of Christ. Our membership boasts 275 members from all over Shelby County. During the last three years, GreenView Church has grown in many ways. We have baptized 10 new babies, taken in several new members and have completely refurbished our building. The church is also handicapp accessible and has devices for the hearing impaired. GreenView Church is striving to be in mision to the community by providing a food pantry, vacation bible school and youth programs..
James M. Oates - Pastor
James M. Oates has been the Pastor of GreenView United Church of Christ since June of 1994. He is a liscensed pastor with the Southwest Ohio Northern Kentucky Association of the United Church of Christ. He and his wife Diane have three children, Jacob who is 8, Dustin who is 5 and Kelsey who is 2. Diane works at Pioneer Rural Electric in Piqua, OH as a billing clerk. During their leisure times, the Oates' like to camp. ride bikes and take walks in the evening. In addition to the church, Pastor Jim also coaches basketball and baseball at Fairlawn High School. Pastor Jim's strongest moments are found in worship woth an engaging style and messages that you can apply to your daily life.
