Church History
Founded in 1981 as Mankato Southern Baptist Chapel, Hope constituted in 1983 with the present name. The founding pastor, Mike Miller, served the church for six years. The church utilized various temporary worship facilities, including a living room, funeral home, and a 7th Day Adventist church. Hope built it's own church in the summer of 1987. Pastor Miller resigned that summer to become a foreign missionary. The church called Rick Monds as pastor in January, 1988 and he served for eight years. Mike Miller returned as pastor at Hope in September, 1996.
Ministry updates
The single parent ministry at Hope was a success in 1996. We presently offer a Single Parent Night Out every six weeks and we have averaged 18 children. We plan to expand that to a weekly ministry for children from various backgrounds in the winter.
