Cosmopolitan, an international community of faith

Cosmopolitan United Church came into being when the congregation moved to Melrose Park on Pentecost Day, May 20, 1994. The building at 1112 North Ninth Avenue is a perfect match for the needs of a congregation growing in spirit, ministries, and people. The congregation is the former United Church of the Medical Center which was located next Rush-Presbyterian Hospital in Chicago. After the hospital acquired the church's property, the congregation moved to Melrose Park which is a central location for a geographically-spread group. Cosmopolitan is united with the Presbyterian and United Methodist denominations and is happy to have members from diverse religious backgrounds. The congregation enjoys a rich ethnic mix which is highlighted by numerous Filipino-American members. There is a history of nurturing members for ministry within the church and beyond its walls. We welcome you to be a part of our future! We are an international community of faith in Metro Chicago serving as a gateway to new life!
