Statement of Doctrinal Beliefs
The Scriptures: The Bible is the divinely inspired, infallible, inerrant Word of God. The criterion by which the Bible is to be interpreted is Jesus Christ.God, the Father: God is the first person of the Trinity and is omnipotent, omniscient, and omnipresent.Jesus Christ, the Son: Jesus God incarnate. He was conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, and died on the cross whereby He made provision for the redemption of allmen from sin. He was raised from the dead and ascended into heaven where He presently is exalted at the right hand of God. Jesus, will, one day, rapture His church and return in glory and power to judge the world.The Holy Spirit: The Holy Spirit is the spirit of God who inspired holy men of old to write the Scriptures. He illumines men to understand the Scriptures, convicts man of sin, of righteousness, and of judgement. The Holy Spirit indwells all who have believed upon the Lord Jesus Christ unto salvation. He enlightens and empowers the believer and the church in worship, evangelism and service.(Based upon "The Baptist Faith and Message" adopted by the SBC in 1963.)
