TRANSFORMING LIVES: A HOLISTIC APPROACH
No doubt you are aware that the poorest of the poor in Zambia face all kinds of obstacles and challenges to living healthy, whole lives. Basic necessities are often scarce, if available at all. The challenges are many and real. And so our holistic approach to helping the neediest people cannot be one-dimensional, but must take into real consideration the many root causes of the systemic poverty and suffering affecting people today.
That is why CAM has always been involved in implementing strategies to address the root causes of poverty and bring about real transformation in lives. In response to the love of God, we work to bring necessary and timely support to people through sharing the good news of Jesus Christ and Christian Development Missions to strengthen individuals, families and communities. We believe that poverty is both spiritual and physical so through Christ, people receive restoration spiritually and physically.
CAM is currently working to respond to community needs:
Evangelism:
(A) Outreach campaigns using door to door preaching to unchurched people, winning back Backsliders and reviving lukewarm Christians.
(B) Open public crusades preaching to everyone who hears the gospel. This is once quarterly in a year.
(C) Using sports in evangelism to win young people to Christ. We train sports evangelist with passion for winning young people to Christ.(New strategy).
Discipleship: Small groups training on bible study and leadership. Classes for new converts and establishing ministries for spiritual growth and involvement. Preaching and teaching God's word during church events and in church Sunday services.
Church Planting: Starting of new cell groups which eventually grow into small group churches. Local cell group leaders are trained in evangelism, cell management and leadership to initiate healthy cell groups
Sustainable Christian Development Missions: Projects are initiated according to community felt_needs including education, agriculture and gardening, water projects, microfinance businesses to help the poor raise household incomes, financial literacy and livestock farming. etc.
