About Our Church
The First Presbyterian Church of Westminster, Maryland is a dynamic, growing congregation geographically located in the center of Carroll County, Maryland. Founded in 1960. They will be welcoming Pastor Matthew Glasgow as head of staff on June 1, 2015. He is bringing multiple skill sets which will enhance 
and enrich the congregation. In addition to his preaching and worship leadership, sense of humor, and strong commitment to youth, he has a gift for working with all people to discover their unique skills and talents, thereby helping them find their place in the life of the church. His continued focus on stewardship as a year round intentional effort to discover God's generosity, and our response to that generosity will lead this church forward to be a shining light of hope in our world.
The church added a new Sanctuary, offices, choir suite, gymnasium and parking in 1992-1993 to meet the growth of the congregation and expand its ministry to the community.
Christian Preschool and Kindergarten
The First United Presbyterian Church of Westminster sponsors a Maryland State Certified Preschool and Kindergarten for ages 2 thru 5. It has a staff of 14 under the leadership of Brenda Morse, Preschool Director. Total enrollment is approximately 250. It is open to all children in the community. Some limited scholarship assistance is available to needy students. Registration begins in January of each year. For more information, contact the Preschool directly at 443-289-9019.
