Dr David Lewson McNally

Born 8 August 1944.
Baptised and Confirmed in St Wilfrid's R.C. Church, Waterloo Road, Blyth, Northumberland.
Attended St Wilfrid's R.C. Secondary School, Blyth, Northumberland leaving at the end of July 1959.
Part-time Student: Northumberland County Technical College, Ashington to May 1962.
Clerk Accountant in the RAF from 1962-1969, serving in the U.K., Germany and Bahrein.
Counter Cashier for Barclays Bank, 1969-1970.

Student at the College of the Venerable Bede, Durham City, 1970-1972.
Student at Northern Counties College of Education in Longbenton, Newcastle-upon-Tyne, (now re-designated the University of Northumbria) 1972-1974.

Graduated Bachelor of Education (with Honours 2:2) June 1974.

Qualified secondary school teacher of History and Religious and Moral Education.

Assistant Teacher at Linskill High School in North Shields: August 1974 to July 1976.
Head of Religious Education at Linskill High School: August 1976 to December 1978.

Principal Teacher of Religious Education at Broxburn Academy, West Lothian: January 1979 to July 1986.

Graduated Master of Education from Edinburgh University: October 1982.

Principal Teacher of Religious and Moral Education and Philosophy at Marr College, Troon, South Ayrshire: August 1986 to taking early retirement at the end of December 2006.

Graduated Doctor of Philosophy in Theology (Dogmatics) from Pochesftroom Christian University, South Africa, in November 1999.

Ordained 30 September 2001 by three bishops of the Anglican Independent Communion, a 'Continuing Anglican Church', at Pinmore Chapel, South Ayrshire.

Formally and personally admitted (incardinated) into the Association of Independent Evangelical Lutheran Churches by Presiding Bishop Pedro Bravo-Guzman in Astoria, Queens, New York, USA on Easter Sunday 2004.

Called to be Pastor of St Columba Lutheran Church, East Kilbride, in August 2005,
subject to being accepted (incardinated) into the Evangelical Lutheran Church of England 'ministerium' on successful completion of a 3-year course (begun by Distance Learning in 2004).

Following early retirement from secondary school teaching (last position was Principal Teacher of Religion, Morality and Philosophy at Marr College in Troon, South Ayrshire), became a full-time student at Westfield House Lutheran Seminary in Cambridge, England, from January to June 2007.

Awarded the Diploma in Theology (in Lutheran history, theology and practice and Pastoral training),
from the Evangelical Lutheran Church of England's House of Theological Studies, Westfield House, Cambridge in July 2007.

Formally inducted to Pastorate of St Columba Lutheran Church in East Kilbride, South Lanarkshire, in central Scotland, during the closing stages of the annual national ELCE Synod on 13th October 2007.

St Columba Lutheran Church in Westwood Hill, East Kilbride welcomes visitors, and Anne and I provide Bed and Breakfast in our home for Christians visiting Scotland, especially the south-west, and especially those arriving or leaving through Prestwick Airport. Pastor David's Christian service and ministry

Raised as a Roman Catholic and attended R.C. schools and regular communicant member of R.C. Church from birth to 1971.
Formally received into the Church of England by the Bishop of Durham in 1971 while studying at Bede College, Durham University.

Served God as a Preacher and Worship Leader in many Christian denominations, e.g.
Cowpen and New Delaval Methodist Churches in Blyth, Northumberland;
Livingston AOG Pentecostal Church;
St. Nicholas United Free Church, Broxburn;
Kilwinning, Kilmarnock, Clydebank and Blantyre Congregational Churches;
Bourtreehill Baptist Church;
Troon, Irvine, Perth, Dunfermline and Ardrossan Nazarene churches;
and in various Gospel Halls and independent Fellowships in the North-East of England, in West Lothian, e.g. Greendykes and Forth Missions, and in Ayrshire, e.g. Erskine Church, Kilwinning.

Formally 'Set Apart'as a Reader in the Church of Scotland: 1986, served as such until 2004.
Served the Presbytery of Ayr as its Adult Education Adviser 1995-1999.
At Newton-on-Ayr Parish Church served as an Elder, Alpha Course Leader and general helper.

Ordained a Priest by 3 bishops of the Anglican Independent Communion, a 'Continuing Anglican church', on 30th September 2001.

Started attending St Columba (address is 151 Westwood Hill, Westwood, East Kilrbide, South Lanarkshire, G75 8QA) in November 2003.
Formally joined the 'Evangelical Lutheran Church of England in Scotland' by being re-confirmed by Pastor John D. Fraser on return from incardination into the Ministerium of the AIELC in Astoria, Queens, New York City, Easter (Resurrection Sunday) 2004.
