We are guided by the Apostolic Canons of the Undivided Pre-Schism Church
and
Our Constitutional Canons
and
all Seven Ecumenical Councils of the undivided Church
With their Creeds as originally written

Because
We believe they correctly guide us in proper Scriptural Interpretation

Our desire is to draw ever closer to the undivided Pre-Schism Church in the way we worship and in the way the Church on Earth is governed.
This Cascade Orthodox-Catholic Ministry, therefore,
whilst giving thanks to God for those who have worked so hard through the generations to keep the English flame alive
cannot support further attempts to 'continue' the comprehensive theology, doctrine or methods
of post-Schism / post-Reformation Anglicanism.
This Ministry calls for ORTHODOX RESTORATION rather than ANGLICAN CONTINUATION.
GIVE ME THAT REALLY, REALLY OLD TIME RELIGION!
A First Century Faith for a broken twenty-first Century world.
There is no such thing as "Optional Orthodoxy" or "Cafeteria Catholicism"

The Cascade Ministry seeks to draw the Church ever closer to the Orthodoxy of the undivided pre-schism English Church,(before 1066) just as the early Oxford movement within The Anglican Communion attempted to draw closer to the Catholic Faith and Practice of the Western Church. We try to do this by linking the viewer to articles, essays, and information of possible interest to those who strive for that closer relationship with, and deeper understanding of, and (perhaps even) eventual full Communion withCanonical Holy Orthodoxy. We also try to aquaint the viewer with the Orthodox Heritage of the Undivided pre-schism English Church, and especially to proclaim with joy an Incarnational Soteriology rather than the Juridical Soteriology so common in the Western Church.

The owner of this page, Br. Nicholas (Oren) Cyphers, is a Life Professed Franciscan Tertiary,
currently forced to live the life of a 'Solitary' due to the sad divisions withinThe 'Continuing Anglican Movement'.
(Pray for the guidance of the Holy Spirit)

THE MARIAN DOCTRINES
Here is a list of the Marian doctrines which belong to the Faith of the Undivided Catholic Church
to which our Constitution and the Solemn Declaration commit us.

(I)
That Mary is rightly called the Mother of God - Theotokos
Ephesus Canon 1
(II)
That Mary is 'Ever-Virgin' - We proclaim her Perpetual Virginity
Constantinople II Capitual 2
(III)
That Mary was without personal sin throughout her life
Nicea II Decree
(IV)
That Mary has been Glorified - Her Dormition / Assumption
Constantinople II
(As accepted in the Undivided Church, this means that Mary, as a whole human being,(body and soul)has been taken into heaven,
and that she already shares in the General Resurrection of the body one step ahead of us.)

(V)
That Mary is an intercessor, and that we may seek her prayers
(Liturgical sources....This has been the liturgical practice of the Church from Apostolic times to this day)

LITURGY

This Ministry supports the restoration of the ancient Liturgies of Britain, especially the usage of the Rite of Saint Gregory. The Rite of Saint Gregory was the Universal Western Rite within the Church for a thousand years before the Protestant Reformation. In Britain it retained Sarum Variations. Before the Rite of Saint Gregory was made the Standard Rite in England (at the time of Saint Augustine of Canterbury, a thousand years before the Reformation) the English Church used "The Gelasian Canon", which (according to the Venerable Bede) was very similar to the Gregorian Canon.(The difference being mostly in the lists of local Saints to be commemorated)
