The Chapel of St. Nicholas, Flushing

Flushing is a historic port on the West side of the Isle of Walcheren in the Province of Zeeland (The Netherlands). Nowadays, usually many ships can be seen on its anchorage, just East of Flushing Town, where there are also important ship repair and construction docks. It is there that the Chapel of St. Nicholas' stands, as part of the Missions to Seamen Flying Angel Club. St. Nicholas' (after the patron saint of sailors) draws a small, faithful and warm congregation from all over the island - it seeks to serve all English speaking people.
This church is part of the Archdeaconry of N.W. Europe, within the Diocese in Europe, and is also listed on the overview of Anglican Churches in Belgium, The Netherlands and Luxemburg.

The Isle of Walcheren, Zeeland

The Isle of Walcheren, with Middelburg, Veere, Domburg and Vlissingen (Flushing) as its most important towns is the major island in the South West of Zeeland. In recent times it was complete flooded during the second world war and again, partially, in 1953. Its landscape is very attractive, and some of the former wealth, connected with the Dutch VOC (United East Indies Company) can still be seen.
Extensive beaches make it a much sought after location for summer holidays.
