MISSION STATEMENT
"TO MAKE MORE AND BETTER DISCIPLES"
"More" is the Great Commission… "Better" is the Great Commandment.
HOW WILL WE FULFULL OUR MISSION?
CELEBRATION
The weekly worship services are centered around Spirit-filled/led worship, praise, music, and preaching. These form the foundation of the worship experience as we celebrate the resurrected Christ and the fullness of the Holy Spirit. Our central focus is experiencing God.
PRAYER
Prayer is the life of every believer's relationship with God. Our prayer theme is PUSH - Pray Until Something Happens. We encourage believers to take an active role in personal and corporate prayer.
STEWARDSHIP
The Bible is clear about our responsibility to be faithful stewards of God's possessions. Through regular giving, believers are given the opportunity to invest in the work of the kingdom.
DISCIPLESHIP
A mature disciple is growing and developing in the Word and their walk. We will offer learning experiences at every stage of spiritual growth.
EVANGELISM
Believers impact the world through personal evangelism. Both their lifestyle and witness are a living testimony to the transforming work of Christ.
BODY CARE
Through Small Groups, we will better minister to the needs within the Body. Also, we will respond to tragedy and hurt, bringing compassion and assistance. This is the "shepherd's touch" of South Lake Worship Center.
Do you believe in what God is doing throughout the world? If you do, and are willing to partner with us, this is what we need you to do:
PRAY
- "Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened." (Matthew 7: 7-8)PARTICIPATE
- "So we built… for the people had a mind to work." (Nehemiah 4:6)GIVE
- "Bring all the tithes into the storehouse…" (Malachi 3: 10a)WHY VISION 1999 AND BEYOND?
VISION
- because we are not content where we are. Neither is God. He will not let us be what we want to be… we must conform to His plan and purpose. WE CAN NOT STAY WHERE WE ARE AND GO WITH GOD.God has given our church a vision to impact our community (Northwest Indiana) and to reach the lost through every available means, including the Internet. We have dedicated ourselves to continue to do this!
Our mission statement says that we are committed to:
"TO MAKE MORE AND BETTER DISCIPLES"
"More" is the Great Commission… "Better" is the Great Commandment.
VISION 1999 AND BEYOND is a challenge set before South Lake Worship Center that is vital if we are to continue to fulfill our mission commitment.
1999
- because the closing of this year will usher in a new millennium and, as a church body, we are committed to continue to impact our community into the 21st century. We look forward to tomorrow's challenges, and although we give God grateful thanks for all He has helped us accomplish, we will not simply rest on the achievements of the past. 1999… because God has impressed on Pastor Sam that, as we are faithful and obedient, within three years our local church can impact 3,000 people per week!BEYOND
- because the window of opportunity is open and until Christ takes His church home, we will continue to "MAKE MORE AND BETTER DISCIPLES.""I will work a work in your days which you would not believe, though it were told you." (Hab. 1:5)
