FRANCISCO MAGRANS CHRISTIAN SCHOLARSHIP FUND

We believe that by having this scholarship fund, we are not only keeping Francisco's memory alive in our hearts, but we know that we are helping minority hispanic students fulfill their dreams of getting a christian college education in a safe, life-changing, spiritual environment. It is our goal to let our youth know that they can accomplish what they set their minds to, while keeping their firm faith and belief in God. It is yet another way to show others of Francisco's strong faith, love and commitment to the Lord and to our church.

With your help and support, we have provided our hispanic students attending Eastern Nazarene College in Quincy, MA. financial help for books and materials. May God richly bless you and yours!

THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT!

"Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work..."   ~ 2 Corinthians 9: 7-8

“ He always made me laugh”

by Ana Laura Pimentel

*Poem by student at Eastern Nazarene College*

Francisco Magrans,

What a great man he was

I remember when I first met him,

I was still a little girl,

he would always make me laugh

making those faces that every kid likes.

God has taken him to a better place.

You know how God is,

He wants the best!

One day we will share a cloud

Under God's beautiful heaven

Please, remember us always as you watch down on us

As we will remember every moment we shared.

One last thing;

I wanna thank you for always bringing a smile to my face

and for contributing to the person that I am now.

~ Ana Laura Pimentel

FRANCISCO MAGRANS BIOGRAPHY

Our dear brother in Christ, Francisco Magrans, was born on October 11, 1936 in Santiago de Cuba, Oriente, Cuba.

In 1960 he married Mirtha Rosales and they had two sons: Francisco Jorge and Rafael Antonio. They came to America in 1966 and divorced in 1971. He later, the same year, met and married Dulce Gutierrez and from this marriage they have two children: Michelle and Michael Gabriel.

He lived in Union City, NJ and worked in "Banco Popular de Puerto Rico" in Bronx, NY for 10 years. Then he worked in "Pan-American Bank" where he was manager of the Union City branch. In 1980 he began working in Goya Foods (c) where he labored there for 22 years, until he retired in December 31, 2001.

He came to know the Lord as his Savior and Lord in 1972 along with his wife. He was an active member of the Church of the Nazarene for 17 years.

He was a brave, faithful man of God who knew how to deal with a terminal illness. He knew exactly where he was going to the very presence of His Lord Jesus Christ.

He is survived by his wife of 30 years of marriage, three sons, one daughter, five granddaughters and one grandson.

*** WE WILL REMEMBER HIM FOREVER! ***
