Organizational History

Stepping Into The Light, Inc. was founded on September 16th, 1994. To meet the needs of the growing number of men suffering from substance abuse. Jerome Bracely, our founder and Executive Director, has led the organization through a period of sustained growth. The organization started out doing in-patient prevention work with one endorsement and small contributions and in its fourth year won a state grant to begin renovations.

In subsequent years, the organization expanded its programs to include food, clothing, and furniture services for the homeless and less fortunate. Stepping Into The Light has become known as a reliable community agency that serves men and women of all races, with clients ranging from below the poverty level to beyond. From 1995-2003, Pastor Bracely has reconciled over 1000 homeless men suffering from addictions back to their families friends and communities.
