ALTAR ASSISTANTS
This group is comprised of about sixty young people between the ages of 10 and 20 who "serve Mass" at our Sunday Eucharists. The "servers" have become a something of a tradition here at Lourdes with as many as fifteen serving at any given Mass. To register, come to the sacristy before or after any of the Masses. CATHOLIC WOMEN'S LEAGUE
The CWL is a national organization that brings together Catholic Women for prayer, support and service. Women in the parish are invited to "come and see". Check the bulletin for the time and place of meetings. (Contact - office) CHARISTMATIC GROUP
This Charismatic group meets regularly on Saturday evenings and is one of the most active organizations in the Church. Prayer and praise combine with action for the community to make it one of Lourdes more popular groups. (Contact - Zeny Ong)
CHOIRS COORDINATOR Each of our seven Sunday Masses has their own choir. If you like to join any of them, see the choir director after any of the Masses. (Contact - Amy Federis)
CHRISTOPHER LEADERSHIP Learn leadership skills and confidence on your feet before others. This program is offered beginning usually in January of each year. (Contact - Glen Simourd)
COFFEE TEAMS The members of our Coffee Teams provide refreshments after the Sunday morning and 1:00p Mass. If you'd like to help, just speak to one of them. (Contact - Eva Salcedo)
DEVELOPMENT AND PEACE Our Development and Peace group keeps us up to date on issues of Social Justice and offer workshops and discussions on current issues of faith and justice as they effect our community. (Contact - Steve Taylor)
DIGNITY Members of Dignity are a part of the gay community who have been meeting regularly here at Lourdes for years. All are welcome. (Contact - Mike Heuer and Allan Duddin)
ENGAGED ENCOUNTER Couples from our parish offer a week-end marriage preparation program in the fall and spring of each year. If you're getting married and would be interested in participating or would like to serve as a lead couple, please let us know. (Contact - Fr. Terry Fay)
EUCHARISTIC MINISTERS This group of parishoners distribute communion at our services and, on occasion, bring the sacrament to those who can't come to Mass. They welcome members - just speak to anyone of them after Mass. (Contact - Office)
FLOWER - DECORATING COMMITTEE Keeping our church decorated and attractive is the mission of this group. If you'd like to help, approach one of the team while they're at work! (Contact - Sr. Frances Cresswell)
FOOD BANK We operate our own foodbank for people in St. James Town and the surrounding area. It's located right in the heart of St. James Town and if you'd like to lend a hand, drop by and let them know - they'd be grateful. (Contact - Sr. Frances Cresswell)
GARDEN COMMITTEE During the warmer months this team keeps our grounds clean and attractive. If you've got a green thumb or don't mind a little weeding or raking, let us know. (Contact - Glen Simourd)
GOD'S SERVANTS This is another active prayer group with some interesting and challenging outreach. Open to all who want a bit more from life. (Contact - Office)
JUBILEE COMMITTEE Although the Jubilee year is officially over, this group gathered such momentum that they just couldn't stop! They're always ready to welcome new members. (Contact - Anna Paolo)
LECTORS A dedicated group of people proclaim the word of God from Scripture at all our services. If you'd like to join this ministry you are encouraged to speak to one of the lectors after any Mass. (Contact - Susan Atkinson)
MINISTRY TO SHUT-INS It is the mission of this group to visit the sick and elderly of our parish and to bring communion to the sick in the hospitals in and hostels of our neighbourhood. They warmly welcome new volunteers at any time. (Contact - Bro. Gave McHugh)
NO-NAME POPULAR THEATRE A popular teaching medium, our theatre group brings to life many of the critical issues poor and disadvantaged people face and thoughtfully reflect on possible solutions together. Their presentations at our workshops and seminars are always a stimulating highlight. (Contact - Sr. Celeste Reinhart)
PARISH SOCIAL MINISTRIES This group serves as a "clearing house" for the various social action ministries at work in the parish. They also plan workshops and discussions, lead marches, prepare liturgies, etc. on issues pertinent to people's everyday lives. If social action in light of the Gospel excites you, let them know! PILLARS A long standing Filipino group in our parish, the Pillars offer an opportunity to keep the faith alive with prayer and activities. (Contact - Frank Maralang)
R.C.1.A. The Rite of Christian Initiation for Catholic Adults is our primary catechetical group that prepares people to become Catholics. A very talented and active team meet weekly with candidates who are received into the Church at the Easter Vigil. They're always looking for new participants and team members. ROMERO COMMUNITY The Romero Community is an associated Spanish speaking group who, among other things, have a Monthly Mass here every Saturday at 4:00p (Contact - Rudolpho Molina)
SACRAMENTAL "CATCH-UP" Every Saturday morning at 9:30a during the school year this group meets to provide those who have "missed" one or more of the sacraments because of moves, immigration, whatever. Open to all at any time! (Contact - Susan Atkinson)
ST. VINCENT DE PAUL SOCIETY This group also has a national membership. It has a special concern the needs of the poor in our neighbourhood. They run bazaars and Christmas dinners and the like and can be relied upon to help in almost any crisis. (Contact - Angela Dickie)
SHARELIFE Each year our parish participates in an annual city wide fund raising drive for the more than thirty projects across Toronto that ShareLife supports. Last year they helped us raise almost fifty thousand dollars here at Lourdes. (Contact - Doug MacKinnon)
TAMIL COUNCIL This group represents the very active Tamil presence here at Lourdes and organizes and animates activities for their community. (Contact - David Thomas)
WELCOMERS Otherwise known as "ushers", this vibrant and faithful group are most peoples' first introduction to Lourdes. They greet and welcome people at the doors, help with the collections and are ready to bring order out of the chaos that sometimes occurs at our major celebrations. YOUTH GROUP This newly formed group caters to younger people in their late teen and twenties. A full slate of activities is being planned. If you find yourself in this age group, are looking for something "more" - be sure to get in touch with them. (Contact - Jackie Jacalan)
