WHO WE ARE
Wilmington Island Presbyterian Church is a welcoming community of about 180 members who are
reaching in, reaching out, and reaching others. We celebrate the variety of ages and people who make-up our wonderful congregation. We are a congregation within the larger Protestant Reformed denomination called the Presbyterian Church(USA).
WHAT'S HAPPENING AT WIPC
WIPC Choir
One of the best in Savannah, our choir sings during our Worship Service
each week. Choir rehearsal is held on Wednesdays from 8:00 to 9:30 pm. |
|
WIPC Preschool
Classes are provided for ages 2, 3, and 4. The
staff is friendly, and children begin and end school each day with a smile!
This preschools is also said to be one of the best in Savannah.
Register your child as soon as possible -- classes fill up quickly.
|
Vacation Bible School
During the summer, WIPC offers VBS for children ages 2 - 5th grade. This is an important outreach that benefits children in
our congregation and in our community. Adults can get invloved too -- we always need lots of helping hands.
|
|
VISA Group "Older" adults meet the 4th Thursday of each month for
lunch. The "Very Interesting Senior Adults" are nice folks, and their
principle agenda is fun and fellowship -- and food. Information about
monthly VISA meetings is published in the bulletin insert and in the
newsletter. |
Mission Outreach
Once a month, the Church takes up a collection for Coastal Georgia's Second Harvest Food Bank. You can make a difference in
someone's life with the "2 cents a Meal" collection.
|
|
Food, Fellowship, and Fun
Our very popular Wednesday Night Dinners gives the congregation a chance to come together and just have fun.
The dinners are held weekly, in Fellowship Hall, and begin at 6:00 pm. Information about the dinner if published
in the bulletin insert and in the newsletter.
|
Presbyterian Women
Presbyterian Women (PW) is an organization whose membership is open to all women of the Church. We have four active Circles which meet
monthly. The Day and Interest Circles meet during the day; the New Beginnings and Ya-Ya Christianhood meet during the evening.
Join us for a spirited gathering! Contact the PW Moderator, Terry Harris, for more information
|
|
Soup Kitchen
Come and lend a helping hand by volunteering at the Inner City Night Shelter. On the 1st Sunday at the every
month we provide and serve soup and sandwiches to help feed the homeless. This is a great wahy to get out and share your spirit.
Look for volunteer slips in the bulletin on the last 2 Sundays of each month, or call the Church office.
|
Office Volunteers
Our Church secretary, Coleen Harwood, is always delighted to have office volunteers. They help fold the
newsletters, answer the phone, drop off recycling, and tend to Church grounds. We appreciate any help you are willing to offer.
Just call the office to let us know you're interested.

|
Softball Anyone?
During the summer months, join WIPC's softball team and have a blast playing in the Island's Church
Softwall League. It's a great way to meet other members of WIPC, and to work off some of the stress that life throws at you.
