Christianity Live!

What is it?

Christianity Live! is a desktop program for Windows (32bit) that you can download for free. It provides a small scrolling window of devotional verses, Christian news and events, and inspirational messages from noted Christians across the centuries. Information is updated every few minutes directly to your desktop! This program serves as a good way to become familiar with lots of scripture, stay in touch with current Christian events, and hear the thoughts of some respected Christians from the past. Now with version 2.0, it's much easier to see the news headlines, and click on them to read more details. Click here to see the current message set (which changes every 10 minutes).

What does it look like

You can minimize the application and continue reading the messages in the scrolling icon. The latest version allows you to view all the current messages, copy and paste if desired. Sometimes a special message comes along that's worth keeping! It also remembers where you moved it, so next time you start it it will position itself to the same place. This is a good application to put in your 'startup' group.

What do I need to run it?

You need an internet connection that is Winsock compatible. You probably already have it since you are reading this message on the Web. You do not need to have a web browser running at the same time. Currently it is only available for Windows 95 or Windows NT, but we are considering others. Let us know if you need one and that will encourage us to develop for that environment sooner.
Note: ChrLive uses negligible CPU resources, and will run through firewalls that currently allow Web access.

Where does the information come from?

The Net Ministries' staff has carefully selected hundreds of devotional scripture verses which form the base of the information. Additionally, selections from respected and noted Christians both past and present have been added. And from time to time, current Christian events are added to the database, which may be of interest to the Christian community.

We also have a feed of News Headlines from Ecumenical News International.
