Authorship and Origin:Habakkuk is identified as the prophet of the oracles, and nothing else is known about him. However, based on the events described in the book, the book can be dated to be around 639-609 B.C.. This would place Habakkuk during the days of King Josiah.
Overview and Significant sectionsThis book is quite interesting to us today, as it addresses one of the most perplexing problems believer's face, and that is, "Why does God permit evil among his people?". Habakkuk finds an answer to this question, which we can appreciate as well, and which will lead us, as it did Habakkuk to triumph in our faith, experiencing grace in the days ahead.
